A unique opportunity at a direct-to-consumer scale up! MR MARVIS is looking for an experienced tech savvy and analytical Head of E-Commerce to be responsible for its rapidly growing webshop, which is adding millions of visitors every year. You will plan, manage and oversee all activities around our webshop. This entails development work, UI/UX design, AB testing, website operations / visual merchandising, website analytics / technical tracking and legal compliance. In order to manage the front-end/back-end part we believe it’s essential that you have extensive experience in working with developers and UI/UX designers. You will primarily be focussing on improving the digital shopping experience and optimising our conversion-rate. You will be heading the E-Commerce team and have the ability to expand the team in a direction that fits your vision and strategy.
Currently we work with experienced agencies and freelancers to execute most of the activities. Website operations and visual merchandising we handle internally through the E-Commerce team that currently consists of two FTE. Our webshop is running on Shopify and for development work we are working with an agency on various front-end and back-end projects. We believe we can do much more to improve the digital experience, but for that to happen we need to increase the technical experience inside our company. We like you to build a strong development foundation, one that allows us to work with both internal and external developers/designers giving us the freedom to do more projects. Some of the questions we often face: What can we do to improve conversion-rate and average-order-value? How can we measure the impact of all new front-end improvements on these metrics? What is limiting our pagespeed and how should we be solving it? What do we need to have in place to start doing our own development work? Should we be hiring our own developers/designers and/or should we work with a remote network? What kind of developers should we be looking at? Is the digital experience on par with what our visitors expect? We’re looking for someone that finds it easier to navigate through these questions than that we currently find.
Examples of recent developments that we’ve been doing to improve our digital shopping experience are a custom RMA (‘return-merchandise-automation’) application which allows customers to submit their return shipment digitally. The application allows us to learn more from our customers, improve the communication during the return process and automate all the repetitive return handling on our end (doing refunds and exchanges). We also just launched the Fit Finder: a brief questionnaire that results in a recommendation of the ideal shorts/trousers size. These recommendations are continuously updated based on the data we retrieve from the RMA application in order to improve customer experience and decrease return rates. Sounds pretty neat?
