The challenge

RetailSonar is scaling up internationally, and we are switching our marketing from focusing on ‘features and capabilities’ to ‘value propositions and differentiators’. We are looking for an ambitious marketing manager who can lead that transition in a hands-on manner. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with (either working in a marketing team or working for a marketing agency):

  • (re)defining a brand (messaging, positioning, tone of voice, visual identity)
  • creating a new website and optimizing for SEO
  • defining and launching digital marketing campaigns (SEA, social media, …)
  • outbound lead generation through SDRs
  • event marketing


Your responsibilities

As our Marketing Manager you will be the end-responsible for all marketing related activities and strategies. You manage two marketing colleagues and align their objectives to the overall marketing strategy. You have a positive and collaborative working style and with your drive, experience, and enthusiasm you convince the team of your marketing strategies.

Your areas of responsibility:

  • Strategic Marketing Planning: Define and execute our marketing strategy with product development, sales, and customer success.
  • Brand management: You make sure there is brand consistency and awareness and develop guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and strong brand identity.
  • Content creation and management: You work together with internal teams to ensure content accuracy and relevance and create compelling content for various channels.
  • Digital marketing: You develop and lead digital marketing efforts and analyze their effectiveness.
  • Event management: You organize events to showcase RetailSonar’s solutions to relevant stakeholders and represent our company in relevant conferences and events.
  • Customer engagement: You understand our customer’s needs and develop strategies to enhance their engagement and satisfaction.
  • Market research: You stay on top of market evolutions and trends and use this knowledge to assure a correct positioning in the market and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Lead generation: You develop strong lead generation strategies, manage the outbound activities and collaborate with the sales team.
  • Public Relations: set up relation with PR agencies and journalists, manage press and public relations


What's your profile?

  • You have a master’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field. • You have proven experience in B2B marketing, preferably in the technology or SaaS industry or having worked for an agency.
  • You demonstrated success in developing and implementing international marketing strategies.
  • Ideally, a first leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster a positive work environment, and drive performance.
  • You possess excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems (e.g. Hubspot)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Fluent in English. Dutch is a strong plus given our historical base of customers. French and German would be an advantage.
  • You are willing to work from either our office Ghent, Paris or Utrecht.
